A 200 year old book and a 600 year old Starbucks

Kevin and I walked into town yesterday for a relaxing afternoon in Canterbury. This city keeps getting better and better. We stopped at our favorite shop, Oxfam Bookstore. Scanning through the shelves of book, I saw a tattered leather bound book with the title Biblical Cyclopedia. I opened it up and saw that it was written by William Jones in 1824. To put this into perspective, California wasn't even apart of the Union in 1824 and this was 40 years before the civil war. I was so excited to own this treasure for £7.
Then we went to the Starbucks right by the Canterbury Cathedral.
The cathedral was founded in 597 and the Starbucks building was built in 1437. It makes the coffee house just a little bit cooler. The Starbucks has several rooms in the back with comfy couches and chairs. The best part is the window showing the cathedral. What a great place to relax with my first eggnog latte of the season and my new book!
We also met with our friend Josh who has such a huge heart for Jesus. His passion for the Gospel is so evident in his life.

Although it is a Starbucks, this is my favorite place to relax and read in the city. If you ever visit Canterbury, the Starbucks is a must-see.

Exciting News: Janice is visiting Canterbury tomorrow morning. We're welcoming her in with pancakes with English friends. More exciting new is that Shelty is arriving in London on Monday. PTL.

Here are some pictures from inside my new-old-Bible-book.
